BBS BOUND 2025 EVENT

BBS BOUND 2025 EVENT

June 17, 2025

The second annual BBS Bound event brought together car enthusiasts, collectors, and industry partners at the BBS facility adjacent to Road Atlanta, drawing attendees from around the world despite less-than-ideal weather conditions.

The event, which began as a grassroots celebration of automotive craftsmanship and BBS’s legacy in motorsports, has now evolved into a major calendar date for enthusiasts. This year, organizers expanded the format to include a charity auction, additional vendor support, and continued collaboration with community groups such as Auto Haus Social and Wheel Price.

Poor weather had cast doubt over the event’s turnout, but organizers were relieved to see most registrants arrive on time. All vehicles in the BBS-equipped class participated, along with all but two in the non-BBS class. As in previous years, the event was free to spectators, while registered participants paid a small entry fee to support operations.

Registered participants were also treated to guided tours of the BBS Motorsport facility, led personally by BBS North America President Craig Donnelly, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s commitment to performance engineering.

First-Ever Auction to Support Automotive Education

A key highlight of this year’s gathering was a live charity auction benefiting the Piston Foundation, which supports education and training for young people entering automotive and restoration trades. The auction was hosted by Wheel Price and featured a unique collection of rare and discontinued BBS products, including:

·       BBS F1 Wheels

·       Race-worn gloves and shoes from driver Graham Rahal

·       BBS cooling cones and other vintage motorsport items

The auction was originally scheduled for outdoors but was moved inside due to rain, filling the BBS showroom with energy and competitive bidding. The bidding was exciting and made for an outstanding auction, raising $10,000 for the Piston Foundation.

Two standout awards were presented after the conclusion of judging for Best of Show in the BBS and non-BBS equipped classes.

Best of Show Awards Attract International Talent

Alberto Garcia, a BBS enthusiast who drove 40 hours from Mexico, won top honors in the BBS-equipped class. His entry: a rare Recaro Edition VW Scirocco, one of only 100 produced, modified to run BBS E01 center-lock wheels via a custom hub conversion. “It was nice to see the award go to a guy as passionate about BBS as Alberto,” said one spectator who had learned of his trek to BBS Bound.

In the non-BBS equipped class, Grant Potter of Scotland took the prize with a Liberty Walk widebody Ferrari 458 Italia outfitted with carbon fiber Forgiato wheels, Air Ride suspension, and a custom exhaust.

Both winners received custom-designed BBS Bound trophies and official certificates of authenticity from BBS.

Notable Appearances and Dealer Support

Among other highlights was Bill Harper, a U.S. Navy veteran who showcased his fully restored 1970 Chevrolet Nova fitted with 18” BBS RI-A wheels. Harper purchased the car new and recently restored it alongside his son, bringing the finished build to Braselton for its debut.

Atlanta-based BBS dealers Buckhead Imports, Forsythe Group, Euro Fed, and North Carolina-based Ehrlich Wheel Works also participated, displaying several high-profile builds and providing strong community support throughout the day. The BBS team from Japan traveled stateside to participate in the event and to witness the BBS efforts and support in the US.

Despite unpredictable weather, organizers hailed BBS Bound 2025 as a success and a testament to the strength of the performance car community.

“It’s incredible to see this kind of turnout given the rain,” said one organizer. “It’s a reflection of how passionate the community is—not just about BBS, but about cars, history, and giving back.”

Plans for a 2026 edition are already underway, with discussions of further expanding the event’s scope and charitable reach.
